Everything is on a journey

In this moment of stillness, right this very second, you and the ground beneath your feet hurtled through space by a distance of 19 miles (as the Earth orbited around the sun at 67,000 mph). From the sub-atomic world of atoms to the macroscopic world of the living creatures, everything is in a state of constant movement. The wind circumnavigates the globe, the ships traverses the seas, animals migrate across vast distances, the day passes through the night and the night passes through the day, the present moves into the past, and the future becomes the present.

Man too is on a journey, from non-existence to life, then heading towards death and crossing over to the eternal afterlife. The final destination is to return back to the beginning – from knowing about Him to knowing Him, from God to God. “Know therefore that there is no God but Allah. Ask forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing women. Allah knows of your movement and your resting place.” [Muhammad: 47:19]
