Finding it difficult to call upon Allah
There are some people who find it difficult to call upon Allah. If you are a person who feels too ashamed to call upon Allah, then this is a matter of urgent concern. Now is a good time to evaluate where you are and what is preventing you from turning to Him? Look at where Allah is in your life. Look within and see what position Allah occupies in your heart.
“If you want to know what position you have in the eyes of Allah,
look no further than where He has placed you in the here and now.”
The fact that you are reading this small reminder is an indication that Allah is remembering you. The sign that Allah loves and cares for you is that He has created for you, and yes for ‘you’ in this very moment, this reminder, reminding you that He remembers you. He has selected you to draw closer to Him with that which will ultimately save and benefit you for eternal ever-life.
Do not despair of Allah’s Mercy
“Come, come, whoever you are.
Wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving.
It doesn’t matter.
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
Come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times.
Come, yet again , come , come.” [Rumi]
Sufyan Ibn Uyayna said:
“What a person knows of himself should never stop him from supplicating to Allah for He answered the most evil creatures, Iblis (Shay’tan), when he said, Grant me reprieve until the Day of resurrection’. God said, ‘You are of those reprieved.’” [Al-Araf: 7: 14.]
You are better than Iblis, are you not? Was He not the rebel and you are Allah’s servant? Are you not more worthy of being granted a response should you ask Him? Make Iblis despair by seeking forgiveness as he made you despair of Allah’s Mercy.
“O My servants, you commit sins night and day and I forgive all sins, so seek My forgiveness and I shall forgive you.” [Muslim]
“My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me,” and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. [Al-Qasas: 28:16]
Allah is waiting to respond
Do not shy away from seeking Allah’s forgiveness even if you break your promise a thousand times. It is you who would tire of seeking His forgiveness but He will never tire of Forgiving. So call upon Him in hope and fear, in brokenness and humility.
“Call upon Me and I shall respond to your call.” [Al-Mumin:40:60]
Allah’s promise is true and He never breaks His promise. Be needy in your requests and have hope that He will answer. He is waiting to forgive you…
Jazak Allah Khayr Abu Ibrahim for this beautiful piece. A short yet powerful and useful reminder.
