The Qur’an is an unending source of knowledge to derive learning and seek its counsel, Divine Speech says:
– “If all the trees on Earth were pens, and the ocean were ink, replenished by seven more oceans, the words of Allah could not be exhausted” [Luqman: 31:27].
This Qur’an, the beginningless eternal Speech of Allah, by its intrinsic essence contains within it an unending source of knowledge and meanings. We can never know the full meaning of the words of Allah, we can study on verse and new meanings from it will keep coming.
Imam Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: “If I lost a camel I could find it in the Qur’an.” Where is that verse about the lost camel? We have never seen a verse pertaining to a lost camel yet he was telling the truth because the Qur’an will point him in the direction to find it.
The Qur’an is the un-created speech of Allah, therefore everything known in the knowledge of God, every creation even that lost camel is included within that knowledge of God. His Knowledge manifest what was non-existing to being and His Speech points towards His Knowledge. So everything of the knowledge of God is in the Qur’an even you and your story (except that you would have to read between the lines, nonetheless, it is all there).
It has to be because every word in the Qur’an is connected to a reality in God’s creation that opens to the tablet of light upon which is written all things will be and all things that have ever been, and all thing that could have been, it is all there.
The Qur’an is thereby the key to gain access to knowledge about everything starting from the self, the physical world, unseen world, life, death, afterlife, and most importantly the Creator. Therefore, anyone who seeks to understand and implement its reality gains gnosis of the Divine in this life, gains an understanding of oneself, and the relationship between oneself and the Divine, and thereby one has the means to live a blessed life in this world, and attain the supreme success and unending knowledge in the afterlife. May Allah make us people of the Qur’an.
